friends CDROM... need help ASAP!!

Ok my friend who doesn't really know much about computers says her moms computer with windows 95 on it anyways it's cdrom drive wont read cds. The drive shows up and everything. We tried a cleaning cd .

I am kinda limited cuz i am not at my friends house...

are they burnt cd? or original cds? I have problems with cd's bunrt in xp, and reading them in other ms os's

are they getting error? or just wont read them?also has anything changes on there computer?? as in new programs? deleted something, was someone inside the case, maybe disconnection the ide cable

Get some canned air and get the dust out or get a lasor cleaning kit.

Or unscrew the drives top cover, and clean the lens with some cleansing alcohol. I've fixed loads of audio cd players that way.

well, turns out, her mom got the drive replaced (It was still under warentee) and it is on the way to her house...
