I left out a ton of screws, and I used Scotch tape to hold the handle panel on. I used NONE of those incredibly annoying hexheads. It seems to hold together and I've been able to run it for a hour or two with no known ill effects.

I forget if it was all first generation, or just the early ones, but I remember hearing that they had cooling problems.

I've seen the CRT start doing crazy things in a first generation iMac. Chaning colors and whatnot.

I was looking at a slot loading iMac once and I don't think it had any cooling except for some heatsinks.

What affects do heat have on LCDs? This is a laptop so it doesn't have a CRT to get strange when it gets hot.
