xp multiboot cd

edited February 2005 in Software
I'm trying to make a windows xp pro + home SP2 multiboot cd by crosslinking the files. Only when i do, the iso is 754mb, which is obviously too big. Is there some help files or something which i can take out of each setup but will still allow them to install properly?

  • just nlite it
  • Or if its an option for you instead of using a cd use a dvd.

  • Do i need:

    \Pro\cmpnents\*.*
    \Pro\ValueAdd\*.*
    \Home\DotNETFX\*.*
    \Home\ValueAdd\*.*

for the install to work correctly?

and thanks for the hint towards nLite, its a great tool!
  • I think you could remove the valueadd folders but the others I would be careful about removing.

  • You can buy 800mb Blank CD's, I bought a pack of 50 when longhorn
became available.. I have a repack of 4074 on one of the disks which
ended up over 750mb in size, just had to burn it to disk as "Disk at Once"
not "Track at Once" within Nero.

And where did you get such a pack? I haven't been able to find them in stores. I do have a dvd burner now (and finally some DVD+RW's to use) but having 800MB cds is always helpful.

Form the store I buy all my computer equipment from, nothing special
about the store, it's just a retail shop that sells a big range of goods.

  • Yes I see... and how fast do they/you burn them at?
  • I'd say that you should just remove the duplicated folders that aren't i386.
  • Get a 870Mb/99Min CD-R

  • can't it damage the burner if they are used becuase the laser has to move further out that it is designed to?
  • I dont think so.
But Tom is right, some old crappy CDRoms will not read 870Mb CDs
