  • Well guest, I don't know how it will help you but
just put in the XP CD and if it starts click exit.
Go to "My Computer" and right click on the CD
icon and choose explore and the files will be in
I386. The execution files will be EX instead of exe.
I'm looking at them now. You're welcome.

  • Thanks, but how do i go about extracting the files on win2k? is there a command line app or something?
  • I've never had any training or schooling on
computers. I don't know what you're trying to do.

I'd click "My Computer" and click "C" and then click
File {upper left on the Explorer window} and then
click New and Folder and name it XPfiles. Then
click it and open it up and it'll be empty. Have both
    windows open {C:\XPfiles and the CD window}
Put the mouse pointer on the file you want to copy
and hold down the right mouse button and drag it
over to the C:\XPfiles window and then release the
right mouse button. From the menu chose "Copy"
Again, I don't see how this will help you.

  • To expand a file, open up a command prompt, and:
cd d:\i386 (assuming that d: is your cd drive)
expand filename.ex_ c:\windows\system32 (remembering to make the .ex_ the file extension but with a _ for the last letter, and making c:\windows wherever you put windows)

  • ahhh expand.exe ...... thanks nightice
