I have a cheap 52x32x52 (x16) Combo drive. When I use nero or roxio, the lowest speed I can go is 16x. Is there a way to lower this below the lowest speed it gives me? I would like to burn at 8x if possible. I have used the same cd-rs in a old 8x4x24 writer and they can burn at 1x to 8x fine.

    It's either the disk or drive. Try updating the firmware or getting better disks, or ones that can run at lower speeds.

    Its not the disks because they can burn at 1x in my 8x4x24 writer and surely i would need to de-update the firmware to make it go slower?
