Guess whos serving a server?
Meh, I've decided to serve my own server for a little while...see how it goes.
If you can see this image, my server's online (check the time so you know your browser isn't caching it:
( located at http://imaging.juleos.ath.cx/ )
The features on my server....
- EM Messenger (version 5.0.0)
- The above image server [ http://imaging.juleos.ath.cx/ ]
- FTP Server (FireZilla)
- Backup Mail Server (not installed yet)
- HTTP Server (Apache 2.0.52)
Also, I'm using Windows XP Pro (fail) ... not my choice, works fine, but I don't want to start any arguements...
It aparently is 1 MBIT upload and download (I've restricted FTP Upload and Download though so that other services don't crash)
My server's URL is http://www.juleos.ath.cx
EM Messenger (vesion 5.0.0)
Although you don't know this, I've been secretly developing my own IM system. It runs on port 30. If you feel like using it, ask me for the docs I made on it (they're dead dead simple) and I'll also set an account up for you. The client available is http://em.juleos.ath.cx/client/JuleOS%20EM%20Messenger%20Client%205.0%20build%203.exe.
Image Server
If you're really sad, you can look at the main road of Albany Way...
FTP Server
I'm thinking about givin some space out ... hurry while the 80GB is still there :P ... I've got backup of 120GB on the other PC if I run out though (HIGHLY doubted)
Mail Server
This will just be a backup way of me saying hi through email...if you feel the need to dump a mail service and want a one with unlimited storage, I'd be happy to allow you some storage.
HTTP Server
Of course, if you do have space on FTP, you might want some on HTTP...I've got it setup to mass virtual hosts (if I create a directory, a new subdomain is born immediatly without having to restart Apache). You'll get <username>.juleos.ath.cx ... once again, highly unlikely that anyone wants some web space like that...ideal if you want to test projects in a Win32 environment though...
If you get some space, you get an EM account and if you get an EM account, you get some space...this is to save confusion.

Also, on the way through there to get to my house, there's 3 - 5 sections of speed bumps (depends what way you go in). Fun or what? I add an extra one because of our drive way.
It might be harder to see now that my lights off...
Plus I might actually take the server down tonight- no actual use YET...
I love the idea of JuleOS - I always like people that create \ develope new OSes......gives me something to try other than Linux and XP!
If you want to have a look @ FluxNET, then visit:
http://flux-1.ath.cx/
It's HEAVILY under construction at the moment, though. Also, Jule, have you thought about merging before. Because I think that me may have the same interests for this type of stuff. And I'm sure we both want to help WinWorld. Please send me a reply about this idea (and anyone else who has Internet Servers \ Networking as a hobby) to my E-Mail - sandomaphone@gmail.com
Thanks, Nice Work Jule!

I'm now using JuleOS EM Messenger 5.0.1 ... general GUI fix.
Also...
The client is due out today too...hopefully by tonight there will be a working client.
To download the current working client, go to http://em.juleos.ath.cx/client/JuleOS%20EM%20Messenger%20Client%205.0%20build%203.exe
:(
Download the OCX from here:
http://em.juleos.ath.cx/client/MSWINSCK.OCX
and shove it in your C:\Windows\System32 directory.
PM me for an account to!
Anyway, yes I know....mandrake = gayness however, I haven't downloaded Slackware yet and I like Mandrake's Boot process.....It looks cool. I don't have the time to set that up in slackware. Otherwise, I will use slackware, maybe, eventually.
let us watch and see how this plays out........
:P
