Dynamic Volume and a Reinstall

edited April 2005 in Hardware
So I got a new hard drive (WD 160 GB ATA-100) today. I removed my old Windows drive, and reinstalled my new one, while leaving my 20 GB 'data' hard drive in.
Windows and the BIOS recognize it has a hard drive, even in Windows Setup it said "D:\ (Dynamic Volume)" or something. However, in 'My Computer', the partition/drive isn't shown. Is there anyway I can get the data back? Or I have fucked myself over? I reinstalled with the same version of Windows XP (SP2).

Was it a spanned volume? As in, was this "drive" actually made up of more than one partition/physical hard drive? If not, you should be able to go into Computer Management, then Disk Management, and right-click on the drive to "reinitialize" it.

Yeah...I was able to do that. *whacks self*. I was able to retrieve everything.
