Why do I get this error?! ...more conventional memory...

edited February 2007 in Software

WIN32
This program requires more conventional memory.
Unload drivers or memory-resident programs that use conventional memory, or increase the value for minimum
conventional memory in the program's memory properties sheet.

How do I by-pass this error?

On Windows 98SE, 256mb ram, I get this EVERY time I use ms-dos in windows, or run a dos app! I have NO memory-resident programs running, I checked in task manager.

How do I use dos without using safe mode, using selective start up is not an option, I use every driver loaded at start up.

What do I do?

  • In win98 right click your dos excutable file and choose properties. Then one of the tabs allows you to alter memory settings for the program (I forget the name of the tab at the moment). This should sort out your problem.

    the tab is called "Memory"
