SSH tunnel

I've got SSH running on port 443 on my server so I can SSH in from school, and set up a tunnel from school through the server. However, when I try to tunnel from local 27123 to 80 on my server, and I set localhost:27123 as the proxy address for my browser, all I get are blank pages. Actually, I was only getting my own website before hand, before I shut off my httpd. But now all I get is blank white pages.

Any ideas?

Should I need some kind of http proxy running on it?

Check with your ISP, or try using proxies and see if it works.
