"Undeletion" program

Anyone have a favorite/recommended program for undeleting files after the fact? It has to meet these specifications:

Work on files deleted before its installation
Work on FAT32 hard disks

If I can get one and get it working... you may have something amazing to read soon...

  • You might try creating an emergency restore disk from any version of Norton Utilities that was designed in the FAT 32 era

In the meantime, don't use the PC you want to restore the file to, hard power it off and boot it from a windows98 startup disk to prevent overwriting the file space previously used by the file
  • Recovery programs?
  • The hard disk has long been out of use, on my shelf(ves).

I only need to recover specific files, and if it lets be select which, so much the better.

GetDataBAck for FAT is waht you are looking for on that page. It is a free demo, although you would have to purchase the full product. Unless you want to be a pirate and use a serial for free.
  • those guys from ccleaner made 'recuva'

  • OK Runtime's things definitely didn't work.

  • Was it just a deletion or are you trying to recover something after a format?
  • I disremember. I shall shortly find out.
