mIRC issues

does anyone get this ever... where it goes through this over and over and over and over, failing every single time?

    Server's are having a hard time keeping up with load, and thus your connection just kinda gets dropped as a side effect. Try SSL or ipv6 if you have it available, SSL negoitation seems to help keep connections at start like that and IPv6 servers might be less loaded (provided they're seperate ircd's)

    (i know the nick is in use by my work pc, but it should swap to my alternate before it fucking times out)

    this has got to me some kind of windows issue, but i have no idea what. windows firewall is disabled and i havent changed anything.

    it DOES WORK from my neighbors wifi, but not mine. same router and everything. seriously wtf am i doing wrong?

    Try connecting to a server directly such as irc.he.net, irc.servercentral.net, or irc.choopa.net

    Is your neighbour on the same ISP?

    I had the *exact* same issue when my (ex)ISP were being gay with QoS

    nope. she has comcast i have verizon. i even turned off my routers QoS. i matched her settings directly, and it still didnt work on mine.

    It could be something at the ISPs end possibly?

    reflashed my router to a newer firmware and its fine now... why it happened all of a sudden is beyond me
