There Is No Zero - XP Product Key Update Tool

edited November 2011 in Software
wow. I was setting up XP on this machine and I just ran into something extremely frustrating.

I normally use the Windows XP Product Key Update Tool to change the product key. Yeah, it does send some info to MS, but only some crap about whether your system files have been modified or not. But really this is crazy.

So I was typing the section of my product key, "3062W", when the "0" wouldn't be recognized. Now I have a shtty wireless keyboard so I thought it was that, but nope.

I typed a zero in the "run" dialog box successfully, copied it, and pasted it into the box. Nothing. I copied "3062W" and pasted it, guess what? "362W". Same thing with capital O's.

lol, did Windows XP not use keys with 0's or O's? or is MS playing a joke on me?
