proprietary Intel Gateway motherboard, Intel/hacked BIOS?
I have a couple old Gateway motherboards. A P2 and P3, model numbers 4000286 and 400583, respectively. They've got an annoying, crippled, slow, Gateway-branded BIOS.
They're i440BX/LX chipsets, so is there a sort of Intel unversal BIOS that I could use, esp. to try overclocking the P3 a bit? Or at least slightly more features?
So far, afaik, the answer is no. thought I'd check though if anyone knew about hacked BIOSs for i440 chipsets. And if I brick one, at least the P2, don't really care. I have an extra P2 board by ASUS. P2L97A, with an HP BIOS.
