Does anyone know how to make bootable iso of Win2000 Pro??

  • The Windows disc is bootable by default.

If you want to make the ISO bootable, use something like UltraISO/WinISO and install the Windows NT disc bootsector (A seperate file)

Or at least that's how I did it, there are most certianly other ways.

  • http://old.bink.nu/bootcd/ Just follow the bootable CD howto.
  • If your cd-rom drive isnt bootable. go to the powerload homepage (google) and find the "bootdisk project" page. then look for "oldbios.exe". this is a floppy that will boot off the CD-ROM Drive. Only works with IDE as far as I know. I think its DOS, so you maby could add SCSI drivers. Plus, I think some SCSI Comp's hvae bootdisk that will boot off SCSI CD-ROM drives.

PS: Just bootup in DOs and run WINNT.EXE off the I386 folder.

That floppy disk (oldbios.exe) has worked wonders for me! Thanks, Warp!
  • You didn't say what operating system you were using Slash, but if you've got XP then get the powertool Isorecorder. After it's installed right click the ISO file and then choose Copy to CD and it will.
Warning: If you don't have this program installed and click Copy to CD you will end up with an ISO just copied on the disk and it won't boot.
    Isorecorder is available here:

  • Wow...this slipstream process is such a great idea. Now I need to download the full sp6a for NT (my nt cd has no updates at all) and the full sp4 for 2k...actually, isn't a service pack 5 due out sometime around the release of XP sp2? If so I guess I'll wait for that and save a cd.
  • hey, and don't you know is it possible to integrate nt4 sp6a into i386 folder?
  • I dont know, TCPMeta has been trying to get a copy of SP4 integerated to gain large disk support (AKA 2000/XP NTFS). His is only SP1 like most of the copys released.

You could use partition magic to resise a partition once NT SP6a is installed but he says his virus software detects partition magic as a virus.
