dual monitors help

I am dual booting windows xp and windows 8.1. I trying to get windows xp to show to difference back grounds on each monitor? on windows 8.1 it does it all by itself. I got a nvidia GeForce GT 610 video card. One monitor plug into vga port and the other in plug into dvi port. thanks for any help i can get.

Why would you have to dual boot XP and 8.1? Compatibilty? I'd just use a VM. x3

The only reason I could think of is some games that might run better on XP and would have poor graphics performance in a VM.

64 bit Windows (7, 8, & 8.1) can't run 16 bit Windows or 8 bit DOS programs. Putting the processor in 64 bit Long mode removes access to the Virtual86 mode that 16 bit WOW needs to run.

Exactly why I have a second computer sitting next to my main one running 98se.

He didn't specify 32 or 64 bit. He could just as easily been trying to run 8.1 32 bit. Doubtful, but possible.

I don't like that you're implying that Windows 7 and 8 are "64-bit Windows", because there are 32-bit versions of each of these operating systems available.

Additionally, there was a 64-bit edition of Windows XP, although it was fairly unpopular.
