Ultra66 IDE Controller causing booting conflict

edited December 2013 in Hardware
Hi folks,

I managed to find a old Ultra66 IDE Controlled I just installed in my Gateway server as a hard drive addon controller. My Windows hard drive is plugged into my motherboard, and 2 more hard drives in my SoundBlaster, along with 2 CD-ROMs in my other SoundBlaster. Both SoundBlasters seem to function like they need too, but when I had installed my Ultra66 IDE controller, my system refuses to boot. I went into my bios and told it to ONLY BOOT FROM C: and yet gives me nothing. The BIOS does not give a BOOT FROM ULTRA66 so I don't see what the issue is. I am running Windows 2000 Advanced Server. Anyone got ideas?

AJ

  • Probably an I/O error, see if the add-on board has any jumpers to set it to either bootable or non-bootable.
