Did you hear that 2 people fixed 4093's WinPE? :shock:
They fixed the original preinstallation environment to make it work! :D

    I must say that the website is quite nice. Potentially I might try and install Longhorn again (I've never really had any luck with it in the past, but that's probably because I was just an idiot).

    I had downloaded the iso but haven't played with it yet. Pretty sure I have the older release floating around somewhere too.

    It doesn't seem to work for me in either VirtualBox or VMWare. In VMWare setup refuses to start, it just hangs on 'Please wait...', and on VirtualBox the color looks horrible, and it asked for the Windows XP professional CD, which I have but do not feel like digging through boxes to get. Maybe it's just my configuration.

    I was able to get it past Please Wait in VMware by changing the VM version, I dropped it all the way down to 5.x, might be able to go 8.x or so but I didn't try working my way down. IDE HDD and CD.

    You can get it to work with later VMWare versions by hitting F5 as it loads the WinPE to get the HAL selection menu and choosing the Standard PC option. For some reason, other HALs fall apart under VMWare in the WinPE, but not once installed.
