Question with downloading an abandonware software

Hi I'm really new and I'm sorry if a question like this has been asked before but,
If I downloaded, say, Windows 95 onto my Windows 7 computer, could I still have Windows 7 installed? Or is it completely gone and all I have is 95?
Because I'm not completely sure if I want to keep new said abandonware...

If all you do is download it, then your Windows 7 will be perfectly fine and intact. If you want to install Windows 95, then you'll have to use virtual machine software such as VirtualBox. Which can be installed on your Windows 7 machine without issue and create a virtual PC that runs on top of your physical PC. Allowing both to co-exist without affecting each other.
