  • Specifically which OS do you want to run and how do you want to run it? (You should have specified that in your post)
  • I would like to run windows operating systems such as longhorn and whistler. i don't know how to run them though do i need a program or a disc burn?
  • For Longhorn and Whistler, you can install them under VirtualBox.

Since VirtualBox simulates the CD-ROM hardware of a PC, you only need point VirtualBox to the downloaded ISO file rather than burn the ISO to a CD.

Be advised that both Longhorn and Whistler are pre-release/beta operating systems and do not always work correctly.
  • I have installed virtual box but i still don't know how to start the OS's that i downloaded from this site with virtual box.
  • In general, you create an empty VM, and then boot the CD image. Duh.

If you have any other questions, please use this web site: http://www.google.com
  • I have a feeling that he may be getting confused by the 7zip archive.

deep12154, You first need to extract the .ISO file using 7zip (download it from this link: http://www.7-zip.org/download.html). After you've extracted the file, you will need to mount it in VirtualBox's virtual optical drive.
