[Offer] The Complete After Dark Collection (Updated Copy)
Hello all, I came across a version of the After Dark screensavers that works on Windows XP and 2000! This comes as a zip that requires zero installation or mounting, it just works.
I loved watching these screensavers as a kid, and the current version on this site does not include every module out there. The one I found has Disney, Looney Tunes, modules from 2.0 and 3.0, Star Trek, Star Trek-TNG, Classic modules, Simpsons, Totally Twisted, X-MEN and a few other random categories!. I ran the module updater a few times to make sure it recognizes each module. Ignore the password warning at the beginning also. I suggest you use 256 color mode or 16 bit to run into less issues with modules loading.
Sorry for the long post but I feel like this should be preserved and added into the current After Dark Archive.
I currently have a link to the archive here: https://mega.nz/#!Kh5C3SZZ!U5g_eOsu3zBr ... 77UZVlgdGw
If a Mediafire link is preferred it is here: https://www.mediafire.com/?l4zllkg5cqdxrb5

I had this complete collection on an older PC, lost it, then scoured the net trying to find it again, and this is what I found. I don't think it was an "official" release by Berkley Systems or Sierra. I even tried to find an "Ultimate After Dark" release but there was so little out there about it I couldn't find enough info. I am looking through the archives I found to see if it points back to an unreleased version or if it was just a guy's collection he put together.
The entire mess of files is found here: https://www.mediafire.com/?rr30693tjaui8
There is a copy for Win 3.1, but I am not sure about older than that.
Also sorry for rezzing a dead thread (just replying to post help), but here was the last bit of info I could find on getting AD to work on x64: https://superuser.com/questions/1027614 ... windows-10
I've added all the files I could find to this archive, has multiple versions included and other AD screensavers that didn't fit into a specific version: https://archive.org/details/AfterDarkCompleteCollection
Best of luck!
The modded After Dark 3 works on both Windows 2000 and XP, although I have never been able to get the modded After Dark 4 to work on win2k (with both regular and extended kernel), though it does work on XP and Server 2003.
I think it may have something to do with AD 4 placing files in %systemroot%\WINDOWS, when Windows 2000 places system files in a WINNT folder. I do remember it failing with XP once, on an upgraded install from win2k (which keeps the WINNT folder).
