edited August 2015 in Software
:? I'm trying to install Windows2000 in Virtual Box and have tried 3 different flavors and they all do the same thing! They just keep repeating the first part of the installation! Am I not doing something I should? Any help would be appreciated!! Host computer is ASUS Laptop w/ 4Gb RAM & 500Gb HD! OS is Debian8! Thanks!! wolf-nv

  • I bet the CD image is still loading up when you run the VM. Go into the vBox settings and select the hard drive to boot first instead of the CD.
  • Windows 2000 *should* give you the option to press any key to enter setup. Are you using floppies to start the install? Only other thing I can think of is something is stopping the boot sector/partition table being written to correctly.
  • How big is the image. If you are going past 137 GB, you need my 48b disk access hack.

Can you tell us exactly what the error is: is it a bluescreen or what. Did you set the active flag on the partition.
