Microsoft Research Detours

$9,999 from Microsoft store, or $8,999 for students.

Anyone here ever used this? From what I've read about it, it seems pretty powerful. Is it user friendly? How does it compare to EasyHook?

Any chance this is used within "detoured.dll", included in pretty much all NVIDIA software?

  • I have use their free version (before become commercial library). Then, we move to MadCodeHook because it's written in delphi (and better system wide injection).

Sadly, MadCodeHook free non commercial no longer updated, as often misused by malicious rootkit :(

But, i found this one, open source (delphi/pascal code), very good for API hooking...
  • I would never in my life use ten thousand dollar software, even if I did get it in the less fruitful ways.

Opening a quick Google search gave me this:

I feel it's a coincidence the article references "detoured.dll". They may be different DLLs, but I also doubt that.
  • Rater than spending for whole program for only few features, there many good code injector (some are open source).

Mine use MadCodeHook for some project that use system-wide injection. It's cheaper, and has free edition previously (before author didn't make free non-commercial as misused by malware to build rootkit)
