I've never seen Doom on 5 1/4" floppies, and I wouldn't have even thought something like that would be needed, except in some rare case of a custom or home-built PC that someone, for some reason, decided to not use a 3.5" drive which were already the standard for years.
Even so, as rare as it probably is, I don't see how it's $5,000 rare. It would be like a 1965 Ford Mustang in pink. They made 500,000 or more Mustangs that year, and there may only be one or two in pink, but I'd have no interest in paying 50 or 100 times more for the privilege of owning that color.
