[OFFER] FAT32 for Windows NT4

This is something I stumbled upon while trying to use NT4 on VMware, and having to transfer files via USB drive. I managed to get a hold of it through the Wayback Machine.

  • The sysinternals driver was read-only. What you really want is Fastfat32: http://ashedel.chat.ru/fat32/

Using that driver, you can even trick Windows NT 4 in to booting off of a pure FAT32 drive.

As far as I know, version 1.01 was the one that's read-only. I have 1.06 which has read-write support, and I have tested and confirmed writing to FAT32 partition.
  • More specifically, I vaguely recall they had a read-only version publicly for download and you had to register or something for the full version. Am I wrong? Perhaps they changed that later?

Do they not sell or support this any more?

If it's as old as NT 4, probably not. I would double check, though.
  • Sysinternals got bought by MS. Windows 2000 could read FAT32. Draw your conclusions.
