(Request) Iomega ZIP drivers

edited February 2016 in Offers & Requests
Hi all!

Does anybody have IomegaWare, or what the heck it's called, drivers for ZIP 100 drive? I'm using a parallel port, and all software that i have tried does not work.

Thanks in advance,

Milo

  • I found this driver. It's for windows 95 but it should work for windows 98 and me. http://www.driverguide.com/driver/detail.php?driverid=113419
  • Holy shit, not malwareguide. Perhaps try these: http://www.outfoxed.net/iomega/Iomega_Zip_Tools.rar

What kind of system are you trying to run it on? The DOS software is known not to work on a stock 8088 or 8086, it needs at least a V20/V30 or 286. (Or look in to PalmZip)

If you have managed to connect it to a physical parallel port I'm guessing it is not quite a "modern" lobotomized system that has had its brains sucked out by Windows 10?

Either way, on a "modern" computer you might be better off hunting down a USB, SCSI, or IDE zip drive. The SCSI versions really rocked.

RARs aren't much better. Thank goodness for 7-Zip's ability to open RARs.

RAR sucks and needs to be kicked off the planet. Mostly because of the other piece of malware called "WinRAR". Most people I've seen use WinRAR, WinZip, or another piece of proprietary junk instead of the (WAY) better 7-Zip.

Everything beginning with "Win", in my experience, is malware. Windows 10, WinRAR, WinZip, WinAmp, etc. Oh wait, there are two exceptions: WinWorld and WinSCP.
  • I actually just picked up one of these drives at value village a few months ago. It still had the original drivers diskette in the box so I imaged it.

The drivers on this disk were only designed to work on DOS 4+, Win 3.x and Windows 95, so if you're running anything newer it probably won't work.

I'll just drop the link here in the case you need it anyway though: http://downloads.grahamdowney.com/iomeg ... %20100.IMA

Hmm... that actually might be worth uploading.

That'd be a good place to put it, SomeGuy.
