CMOS Password
Hello!
I've just bought a cheap Compaq lte 5280 through Ebay, it has some problems but the one is blowing my mind is that the computer has a CMOS password(I can install a OS,or whatever but i cannot change anything at bios), so i cannot change the language(its in italian..), date, anything. I tried removing the main battery and the small one on the back for 30 min-1 hour and it still needs the password, Anyone with a computer like this know how to bypass the cmos password? if there is a way to do it through some software it'll be better because i dont want to disassemble it and break something or whatever. Thank you.

I dont know if that is the cmos battery.
If you're still have trouble clearing the CMOS password, have a look in the service manual linked below.

Yes i removed it, the battery of the laptop is absolutely dead, i removed the main battery and that NiMH battery and tried to power up the computer a few times without any power to discharge everything, waited more than an hour to put back together and it still has de CMOS password, that software called KillCMOS or something like that would work on this compaq?
No, there's a jumper on the topside of the motherboard that will clear the passwords. Click on this link: http://www.elhvb.com/mobokive/edwin/lap ... 205000.pdf
Go to the bottom of page 41, where it reads:
Follow the instructions. It should give you a step-by-step procedure on how to access the jumper. If you're uncertain how to disassemble the unit, I can disassemble mine and take photos to show you the steps.
CMOS pwd bypassed. Thank you so much!
