Hi, I have a single core PC running Windows 7, but I'm curious about that... Does Windows 7 perform better with a dual core processor? the reason I ask is because my laptop barely even runs properly... Thanks!

Sometimes it's your ram try adding more ram and it might be how much free disk you have but yes some times it works better with a dual core or a HT processor
Any modern OS performs better with more cores. Older systems such as systems before XP may have issues with multiple cores but why would you attempt to run an old OS on a modern box... random tangent.
The only thing Vista has on Win7 is it performs slightly better on lower RAM.

But you will need to post the specs of the PC
