hard drive error help

edited January 2017 in Hardware
I have four hard drives in my computer and one has windows 7 and the other has windows 10. When i boot into windows 10 and restart the computer to boot into windows 7, Windows 7 wants to run disk check every time. But if i am in win 7 and restart the computer and boot back into win 7 it will boot up normally. It seem only to do it when i restart from win 10 and boot into win7 and win 7 want to check all four disk. Is there a way to stop this? I ran my antivirus and it didn't find nothing. The antivirus check all four hard drives. Thanks for the help.

  • To stop checking all four disk, you must run CHKDSK command on command prompt as follows.

    Example : (C Drive)

    CHKDSK C: /F
    or
    CHKDSK C: /R

It will perform when the PC boots, but it takes a few of time.

I recommend to check HDD status by CrystalDiskInfo utility.

If your Win10 partition of HDD is alive, you must use BCDEDIT command to boot Windows 10.
I use EasyBCD utility to edit boot loader easily instead of BCDEDIT.

P.S. I don't recommend to use 4 HDD on same PC as internal if possible.
    I use 1 SDD (256GB) + 2 HDD.
  • it didn't check for errors today. I got four hard drive because one has win7 other win10 one is blank use to have windows xp last one has music and movies and stuff i downloaded.
