Can't launch MS Office 97 Professional no license on machine

edited February 2017 in Software
I've just downloaded and installed MS Office 97 Professional, and after figuring out how to find and enter the CD Key Code required, it successfully fully installed. However, now, when I try to launch an app, it refuses to launch instead giving the error message "Can't launch MS Access, no license on this machine." Any suggestions?

  • That means it can't find the registration information installed by setup. Usually the only time this happens if someone tries to copy the MS-Access files from one machine to another without using SETUP.

Re-running setup and letting it properly install should fix the problem.

If that doesn't fix it, then it may mean your Windows registry is badly corrupted.

Also, remember under NT based OSes you will need to run SETUP with administrative permissions. But it should tell you if there is a problem with that.
