Doubts about - MS-DOS 5.00

Hello,

On my Commodore PC 20-III I have MS-DOS 5.00, but I have two problems:

It doesn't have Scandisk aplication, and it doesn't accept "move" function.

I tried to copy scandisk from MS-DOS 6.22, but it doesn't run on 5.00, there are some Scandisk for 5.00 version?

My MS-DOS doesn't accept MOVE funcion, to move files between directories. Do you have some idea of what's happening, or there are another command to this function?

Scandisk was introduced in MS-Dos 6.

In MS-Dos 5, you have checkdisk(chkdsk).

Before asking the question, I recommend you seek about SCANDISK on google.
Also you should run SCANDISK of MS-DOS 6.22 on same DOS version, not on different version.

If you want a direct substitute for Scandisk under DOS 5, what you want is the Norton Utilities for DOS: https://winworldpc.com/product/norton-utilities/50

The "move" command does not exist in DOS 5.

Did you try SETVER?

BTW, it is possible to use the DOS 6.x move.exe under DOS 5.0. It doesn't even need setver to run, just copy it over. But again, it doesn't come with DOS 5.

DELTREE and a couple of other utilities work without SETVER, but I can't get SCANDISK to work even with SETVER. Odd...
