Correction of information and corrupted packages

edited March 2017 in Site Issues
Hi, you are doing a good job for anyone who wants learning about software evolution with a real possibility of experimentation. Congratulations!
Just for the purpose of correction of information, the package "Microsoft OS/2 1.0 (5.25-1.2m)" in https://winworldpc.com/download/403E40F ... 54D21A8599, is IBM OS/2 1.0 (not Microsoft version).

  • Thanks for pointing that out. I'll make a note to take a look at that.

How exactly did you determine it was the IBM version? Did you install it?
  • As you know, OS/2 was developed by IBM and Microsoft.

IBM OS/2 version was for IBM PC or IBM PS/2 machine.
Microsoft OS/2 version was for Non IBM PC vendor or Tandy PC.

In this case, yes, this is IBM version. (Not for OEM version)

    1) Boot ID : IBM 10.0
    2) VENDOR-#DO1

I guess this is IBM OS/2 Standard Edition 1.0
Of course a few of OEM version of Microsoft OS/2 have Boot ID with IBM.
    (Example : Compaq OEM version)

    Micosoft OS/2 1.0

    1) Boot ID : OS2 10.0

Microsoft OS/2 1.0 for Tandy OEM

    1) Boot ID : TAN 10.0

Yes, I have installed in VirtualBox all the 1.x versions of OS/2, with the exception of the three versions 1.0 from Microsoft. All of the three have the same driver problem to recognize the virtual hard disk during installation.

Another correction necessary is the package IBM OS/2 version 1.1 in https://winworldpc.com/download/403A704 ... 54D21A8599
This is Microsoft OS/2 1.10, OEM version from NOKIA (not IBM).
