Windows 2.11 Paint no color?

Windows 286/2.11's paint program doesn't seem to have colour.

I can only "paint" in black/white "patterns", is there anyway to get colour, or is this just how it was?

I do have VGA graphics and a VGA monitor, so I should be able to do colour, well I am everything else seems to be in colour including Wolf3d, and Windows itself (such as the screen background, title bars, etc).

Win1.0x Paint doesn't have color, Win2 Paint may be the same. Paint was extremely primitive once upon a time.

Copies of Z-Soft PC Paintbrush for Windows are out there and will support color. MS used to bundle it with just about everything like mice and Windows.

But yes, MS Paint only did monochrome images.
