Internet Project

My old IBM PS/2 computer (386DX/16MHz, 4MB RAM, 40MB HDD) will soon be on the internet! I managed to get the MCA card in it to work after discovering that it was an Etherlink/MC not an Etherlink III, and all I need is an AUI to RJ45 adaptor and it should be surfing in text and using IRC in no time.

Anyone have any software recommendations? It runs IBM DOS 5.0 BTW.

  • Arachne
  • yeah I've heard of that one, but would it work very well on my machine? I know it needs an upgrade but I don't know anywhere to get an ESDI drive from.
  • Yes it should work
  • Cool, all I need to do is order an adaptor off eBay and wait for it to come.
  • I'd use Lynx, if it runs on DOS
  • There's a DOS port. I wouldn't bother though. It's obvious that it's going to look like ass.
