Unboxing MS-DOS 3.3

edited September 2015 in Software
Another title in my collection, an OEM copy of MS-DOS 3.3 from 1987 that's been opened up for the first time. This would have been included with 8088 and 286 PCs at the time.

Straightforward system requirements:

Inside were just the disks sealed and the one 400-odd page manual:

Only 2 5.25" floppies are included, one for DOS, the other for GW-BASIC:

A snippet from the manual. New features included supporting 1.44MB 3.5" floppy disks, and disk partitions over 32MB in size:

  • Nice.

This must be version 3.30A. (1988)
    I have original box package of MS-DOS 3.30 as 5.25" (1987)

Now the rare media is 3.5" of MS-DOS 3.30/3.30A
  • I have a huge reference book for MS-DOS 5.00
