    @LaserBeamTube

    Dumped image is already uploaded on here from retail setup disk.

    I recommend to buy it from eBay or amazon if you still need to help.

    The sha512sum doesn't match for the Microsoft Windows 98 First Edition - Boot Disk (3.5-1.44mb).7z file.

    It's supposed to be:
    d7923d70a50c83f62e8912787af896a49a8b188ab5b8ae85e6b5ac8eeb892f2c825ec69bc8b0ed63b58d7f4188268c795bf39b8798b86dcb717fad4cea647600

    But I get:
    8533e899f79c804b6349c19b6573216561442ac30d1efeea2196752259961ca7c82e193ac432278fa94ffea89700e72706c6b1afb4dd63fb98b6fb08603b00f8

    Or is it an any other 256-bit 512-bit algorithm?

  • They are supposed to be SHA1 (160-bit) checksums, but some were corrupted during the DB changeover. Looks like something else has gotten borked.

  • Got it, thanks! Hopefully they'll be corrected some day.

  • I first purchased this in late 1998 as a Retail Full Package, but I later found out that it was available in 3.5" 1.68MB DMF type (but Boot Disk was 1.44MB) through mail order.

    I checked now and found that the contents of the Boot Disk for supporting the CD-ROM version and the version supporting the 3.5" diskette were different.
