[OFFER] Windows 97 & 99
Yeah, so I've recently heard of an operating system, well, two actually, Windows 97 and Windows 99. Windows 97 is like Windows 95, and Windows 99 is like Windows 98. Now, both operating systems are actually considered fake; Windows 97 is the "fake Windows 95", and Windows 99 is considered the "fake Windows 98". Windows 97 was not made by Microsoft to be honest, it was made by another person, I don't know who, but that guy made his own operating system that is like Windows 95, and called it "Windows 97". And Windows 99 for some reason seems to be another name for Windows 98 Second Edition, because when I searched Windows 99 on Wikipedia, it redirected be to the Windows 98 page and took me to the part where it talks about 98 Second Edition ![:\](https://forum.winworldpc.com/plugins/emojiextender/emoji/yahoo/confused.gif ":\")
So yes, these are two fake, and somewhat real, Windows operating systems I found.
I found the ISO images for Windows 97 and 99 on a website called Internet Archive.

Note: Both downloads are in a compressed ZIP format, but after you download one of the files, you'll have to extract it; the ISO image for either operating system is in those ZIP files.

This is the big problem with archive.org. Nobody curates their crap.
These are fake homemade garbage with who knows what in it, and I recommend that nobody touch them.
Okay, I'll stop offering this type of stuff.
I have inspected those two downloads.
It is definitely some customized windows versions, done by some "enthusiast".
Windows 97 does not boot up in Live Mode in qemu, but in VirtualBox. I have attached some screenshots. It is very unstable and buggy. It uses an UI named mask98.
It identifies as "4.00.1111". This is in fact Windows 95B OSR 2.x.
Windows 99 does not have a bootdisk. I am too lazy to search a fitting one for a fake-release.
So i grepped all strings out of SETUP.EXE of this ISO.
I have attached the result in a text-file, it is a lot.
It identifies as "4.10.1999", which is one number ahead of Windows 98 Final (The first edition). First Editions' number is "4.10.1998".
So, no worries about these "releases", no one needs 'em, unless he/she wants exactly these customized ISOs. In this case, most likely he/she knows more, and then please tell here.
I forgot something:
The guy who made Windows 97 calls himself "ideeman1994". A quick google search turns out he also extracted DOS out of Windows ME and did a few other things related to that. It shouldn't be too hard to get in touch with him, if some is interested in these "releases".
