The Microsoft Word word processor was first introduced for MS-DOS in 1983. Its design made use of a mouse and WYSIWYG graphics. Its crude WYSIWYG/mouse support was a direct response to the Apple Lisa/Mac, and VisiCorp Visi On. Initially it competed against many popular word processors such as WordStar, Multimate, and WordPerfect. Word for DOS was never really successful.

    Is there a way to start one of this Downloads of word 3.x for Ms-dos?
    What should i do? I Tried it with dosbox but the dosbox has some Problem with "free files in config.sys".
    Could you please help me?

  • Sounds like you need to increase the FILES setting in CONFIG.SYS. Although using an emulator with actual DOS in it would probably be even better.

    Microsoft released Microsoft Word Junior in France. There are books on Microsoft Word Junior. Microsoft Word Junior release 1986 in France.
