OFFER!! - HASH Animation Master 2000 Millenium Edition (8.5) Win32 Vintage>>>

Comparing this to version 15 not alot of significant differences...

This was when HASH was at peak & many GREAT animations done from 1996-2004...

A whole bunch on their FTP great stuff-

ftp://ftp.hash.com/pub/movies/

Was interested in rendering abilities shoot it had Radiosity-GI & pretty good material system I also hooked up to Dark Tree 1.10 which also seems to be the deepest integration of DT simbiont of all the version 1 simbionts...

Here 2 DT the rest native-

Comes with overwrite folder with buncha projects, Shader-Turbulence-Texture Files, Materials, etc...I have not tested everything most I got off wayback machine...All projects tested any that crashed were eliminated...If HASH cries out for a file when loading a project look in the project's folder...

The 'Libraries' folder is custom I put models & MATs in there you tell HASH in prefs where it is then also make library file TAB then drag all MATs into it...Pretty easy...

On shaders there is a definite Rocks-Paper-Scissors as render settings are in Render Panel, Camera (same as render panel almost), the Material itself AND the object all these have different authority & effect...

You are smart You'll figger it out...

HASH one of the easiest for 3D animation & been so overlooked yet the animations in the 90's were way ahead of the garbage being done in 3DS Max or early Maya & on that I still cannot fathom how Alias Wavefront got so many contracts there must've been some real bum kissing going on in corporate back rooms (or bathrooms)...

Comes with manual as well...There are some tuts on that FTP even if later they all relate mostly...

  • Talkorbell,

Do you have the .x plugin from obsidian games? So that Hash can export direct x files!

    cheers,

  • Looking about I don't see it...
  • Oh well , looks like I have found it myself. All I need to do is get it working with version 8.5 and 9.5! I might have to do a complete re-install because 8.5 is chucking a turd 💩 with a weird graphic problem and no it’s not my graphics card!
  • Do you have any mdl model files to share ? It seems version 13 mdl files don’t work on 8.5? Very weird!
  • I will look about & yes there are stark differences...
  • Looks like the plug-ins I have won’t work with 8.5 . Looks there’s another version specifically for 8.5. Because 8.5 was the first to support the plug-in! I’m yet to test them with 9.5. I believe 14 and up have the plug-in already apart of animation master. The other versions from 8.5 to 13 need the plug-in to be added to animation master!
  • Do you have a download for any newer versions of AM? This one has a couple problems rendering for me
  • The other day I happened to notice that Shade3D 9.2 had an Animation Master export function & even more surprised when I saw it was in the super-old HASH .SEG format that even HASH 2000 included as a 'backwards compatible' importer from the DOS days...

I quickly deduced these clever Japanese developers concluded that this was the best way of injecting Shade3D assets into AM... So far so good I have exported a number & all looking good here is a sea turtle-

This would be considered 'Shade3D Curves to HASH Patches' conversion...

This was done in Shade3D 9.2 Pro but I'm sure 8.5.1 has same ability there was a free version in one of those 3D Wold CDs on archive... Faintly remembering like issue 107 or 102 CD, somewhere around there...

Nothing else works except for an old version of Wings3D where a guy made an exporter that works pretty good it only works in that old version of Wings3D 0.98...

I have tried exporting from everywhere else & all comes in as garbage & using HASH importers same deal... The above two are the only ones working...
  • There's a free Spline 3D modeller.
Looks pretty good, as good as spline modelling can be I guess.

  • Yes, I tried Hamapatch many years ago, didn't quite click... For me it's trying 'Splineless' modelers that can be converted to efficient HASH patches... Shade3D at present appears the best option, but only 9.2-down... I had a look yesterday on another machine I have Shade12 on & there was no HASH .SEG exporter...

Nice about HASH is no UV mapping, it all stays put & moves like it's supposed to when animated & amazingly space-age it's always been like that...
  • Amazing Shade had support for HASH splines!
