AIX (Advanced Interactive eXecutive) is a Unix port originally developed by IBM and released in 1986 for the IBM RT 6150, a RISC based desktop workstation. It was later ported to the RS/6000, POWER, and PowerPC platforms as well as IBM System i, System/370 mainframes, and the PS/2 personal computers, and the Apple Network Server.

    How do you install this on a actual PS/2. I have a Model 70 486. How do image the floppies?

    In IBM AIX 1.3, Boot_(ESDI)_02.img is actually the bootable disk #1, and Boot_(ESDI)_01.img is boot disk #2. If your emulator won't boot from the floppies, try Plop Boot Manager.

    You can write raw floppy disk images like these to floppy disks using dskimg.exe or rawrite.exe in dos, or dd in any unix-like OS, or whatever other tools for working with floppy disk images can handle a raw 1474560 byte image.

    I should also add that the 1.3 X.25 disk 2 image is missing and has an extra copy of TCP/IP disk 2 in its place
