OFFER!!... 4DPaint Rembrandt 1.82 Win32 (1998) - Before It Became Deep Paint 3D>>>
Actually quite good especially for the time... Multichannel painting, textures, layers, procedural or bitmap brushes... Seems like the biggest hurdle is getting a mesh in... 3DS seems to work best with proper UV, it will import LWOs that don't have a UV but the second you touch the mesh everything is painted... Applying a UV from LW 6.5 it won't accept it... In the manual it says that it will accept LWO with parts UVed in the regular planar/spherical/etc I suspect I will hafta make something in LW 5.5 as that version had very basic UV options whereas LW6-Up much improved very different...
Says it will also hook 3ds Max 2 & softimage 3D 3.5 but I don't have a runner for either I tried installing softimage 3D 3.7 as I had that running on a machine years ago but only thing that worked was the transport-

It does not ingest OBJs so 3DS would be the mainstay... Other than that very good for 1998... Comes with a crappy head to paint on so I included a Low-ReZ version of my BiBeastBust that I did on Nendo... You can hide objects to get to the hard to reach one's...

You can use bitmap brushes but the size limit is 32x32 & 8bit depth... I converted all my Zbrush 1.55 alphas I had made to this & included them... At 32x32 a total of 550+ only 1.1 MB so at least they take up NO space...
It's certainly better than Nendo's paint or Tattoo or the crappy trueSpace 3D paint which is the worst... BTW I tried a 'Per Face' mapped object in it from Nendo & it didn't like it... In fact some weeks ago I tried 'Per Face' in as many 3D Painters as I could find & they all fail except for-
-Nendo
-Mirai
-Albatross3D
The program is pre-medicated so just install & go-

It's too big to attach here.
I had a little play, thanks for sharing.
Still way better than Nendo but you can't paint a Nendo mesh in it as it won't do 'per face' mapping for painting...
But Mirai will & it's quite a bit better than Rembrandt you can go much higher for brush rez plus render to see whatever though the worklight does not do the best-
But I figured out scene lights in Mirai... You make a light or 3 each has to be assigned to same light group which in turn has to be assigned to whatever objects are gonna be rendered, yup, it's a bit ridiculous for sure...
Exporting my FemFoamForm from LW 6.5 to 3DS with atlas mapping worked fine-
Methinks conversion using way old converter might do the trick... Here's Interchange 4.0 Portable from 1997 converts to/from tons of formats most nowadays have never seen nor heard of probably a good companion to Rembrandt-

I have used it quite a bit to convert more modern models to oldish 3D DXF for Bryce 2 Portable (1996) works great for that...
