  • What server did who change? We changed DNS names on mine (this server running the forum) and Q's because of leeches.
  • Okay WinWorld's URL is: http://www.winworld.vze.com/ right?
Well I type in that and I get the Title in IE's Title bar appearing but NO content whatsoever. It was definatley not like this before - I could access stuff and download things from WinWorld about 3-4 weeks ago. But No, Now it's not working and I really really really want to be able to access it.

The URL is http://www.winworld.vze.com/ and is short for http://mysite.verizon.net/bellingdm/index.html and neither of the addresses work. I dunno - maybe I should wait a little longer? I tried once but got a "Connection Timed-out" error From TPG (http://www.tpg.com.au/ TPG Australia is my ISP).

    Again, WAT IS WRONG?
  • Hmmm , thats really odd... See, we need people to tell us these things so we can figure it out... the main sites hosted on my Verizon space... the forums on my server ON my connection, so Im wondering if its the Verizon webspace being gay....

    http://citymail.myftp.org/fishnet/winworld/site/

Should still work, but its VERY slow... 30KB/sec max... we'll need to keep that one up to date with the new unlimited speed server. But the forums better anyway! LOL! Because here you can talk to people! (dance)
  • Just another thing - I just read ur sticky about FTP using IE. I use FTP with IE but after reading that (and because of my love for you guys (woot) ) I've already decided to kill IE and put on Mozilla if thats okay.

So, about WinWorld, the site you just suggested does work and I'm happy :) but the real http://www.winworld.vze.com/ will it begin to work in Australia soon too - cause I'm wanna know if anythings changed - Like people don't change to a completely different server for no reason - u know wat i mean. Neways, I don't really care wat u do as long as you guys can keep the Winworld.vze.com address working - Easier to remember!!!!

    Thanx!!! :bulb: lol :D:)
  • Hmm..., I wouldn't put it past Verizon to pull something like that...

Fish, you'll have to Email\call them.

    -Q

    PS. Try US proxy

PPS. Try something other then IE, you never know...

Yeah we changed servers because the old one was obscenely slow, and down sometimes, the new one is up at all times, and hosted by my ISP, so going slow would be HIGHLY unprofessional. Something other than IE will probably help... if not, go to www.proxy4free.com and find a US proxy/....

    I recommend proxy.sj3.marketscore.com port 80
  • Um, <WARING: Noob Question is about to be inputted!!!!> wat and how do i get to the US Proxy??

And the Old http://citymail.myftp.org/fishnet/winworld/site/ does not work - the downloads section gives me a 404 error.

But yeah, guys, get onto to those Verizon guys reaaallll quick if possible!!

    Thanx again!
  • Yeah somethings going on with the old one... FTP says the folders there, but HTTP says its not.. .lemme look at that.
  • 206.169.87.238 port 8000

In IE, Tools > Inet Options > ... something...

In Firefox, Tools > Options > General > Proxies

    -Q
  • Thats great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

But, How do I go about using this proxy stuff - I've never used public proxies before in fact the only thing I know about them is the fact that I'm sharing an internet connection with them across my LAN with CCProxy.

    <WARNING: Another Noobish question *sigh*>

On other matters, this must be a record. like 8 posts in half an hour - I'm impressed!!!!
  • You appear to be NOT leavng news and announcements, go to http://fishnet.dyndns.org:81/winworld/forum/ and you'll see TONS of posts an hour... on our highly active forum. Theres ALOT more to the forum than ths section :P
