New Question about NT 4

edited November 2004 in Software
Does NT 4 support 16-bit colors? You know, instead of 16-color (like windows 95 is). I'm just curious...

Windows 95 supports icons in 16 color pallette mode...
Windows 98 supports icons in 256 color pallette mode (as does ME and 2000)
Windows XP has the 16.7M (32-bit XP) color palette...

I just want to know if NT does the same icon color pallette like windows 98 ME and 2000 does...

  • If your card can support it, Windows NT can. Just have to get the right drivers.

As far as the color platee, Windows might not show icons (my computer, net neighborhood) with the colors. Unless you have plus with it.
  • Windows NT should... If you enable "Show Icons with possible Colors" (or something like that) on the appearance properties...
  • OK. thanks.
  • Windows NT can display as many colors as your integrated video or video card can display. Make sure the drivers are installed first or else there won't be good options other than the default that colors that NT has.
  • Unrelated, but where are you in NJ, trainer4? There are many NJ dwellers here.
  • I think it should display 24bit colors too,, but first you need to enable that tweak in xteq-xsetup pro...
