  • Yeah, mandrake does have good support. I used Redhat once and about to get an old PC with redhat soon (damn UPS)

    I used RH 8, 9, and 7.3 along with a Knoppix Live CD. They're all good.

    Linux is Linux, and BSD is BSD. :)

    BSD also was not written by AT&T. It's a *direct descendant* of AT&T's original UNIX, but it's just as much a re-write as Linux is.

    The way I see it is a text-only OS is pretty much fucking useless for everything but as a server. The way computers have evolved is that they revolve around a GUI-based system. No one will want to, or should, use a text-based OS as their primary OS. As a server, I can understand that. Servers have no need for a GUI.

  • I've voted for Mandrake, but my favourite is the Russian edition of Mandreke Linux called AltLinux.
