Western Digital 80 Gig Hard Drive - $62
Thank you to everyone that helped.
The Western Digital Hard Drive is working fine
now. It's a good deal for sixty two dollars.
The problem was no doubt bad ribbon cables.

you get a cheap 200GB that may fail or you can get a quality 80GB that wont fail liikely
bad ribbon cables? is that a fact are did u read it from a review? ....just use your own that you have layin around and use em.
The SQL fucked itself over
I wrote about it exhaustively but it's gone now.
It currently has two ribbon cables, one OEM
and one from a junked Compaq. The hard drive
will only work on one of the four connections.
The end of the Primary cable. The CD runs on
the end of the old Compaq cable. Neither will
run with or without the other on either middle
connector. It was my guess. I asked for other
imput.

I've seen high capacity Seagate Barracudas at CompUSA for rather cheap.
This seagare barracuda 7200rpm is a bit noisy when loding, and seems slow when compared to a samsung 7200rpm drive.
It doesnt hum at all and not that hot either
Hitachi 200GB HD $79.99 after rebates, which includes an 80 MFR MAIL IN. 7200RPM, 8MB Cache. http://www.compusa.com/products/product ... &pfp=srch1
There's also a Maxtor SATA 7200RPM 8MB Cache 250GB for $159.99 after "Instant Savings".
The Hitachi was an awesome deal. Oh well.
