OK, so I got this 386 serverer to startup and found out that it has NetWare 4.1 from Novell on it! If I can somehow mimic the distribution installer then WinWorld might get a NW soon!

  • I have some Novell knowledge. Thanks to my" Network+ Guide to Networks 2nd Edition"
  • Yea I know some, but no practicall stuff...

  • sounds fun... ive always wondered what that's like...
  • I have been trying to get acopy of the latest networe, but they wonnt lemme get it. This would be fun. But Netware does require a DOS partition. I think a DOS partition of 20-100MB. I have to check my network book.
  • can netware be downloaded anywhere? whats about xenix, i
  • We MIGHT have NW 4.1 soon, and I've got many Xenixes.

    -Q
  • shouldnt that be "xenii"??
  • I can't wait to try NW4.1.
  • I don't know if I'll be able to get it, but we'll see.

  • hey Q, can any partition ghost program that you know of access a xenix drive? If so you could just make a clean install and make a ghost of it. Or, if you can get it to install into VMware or VPC, you could just toss together all the files and that could also work.
  • I got this boot CD with like 50 programs and one of them is Partition Magic. Its about 30Mb

    I could ISO it up

That sounds like a pretty good disc.
  • Yeah that really sounds good IBMWarpster.
What else has it got? I'd like to have
something like that. It's not the PE Builder
    with the plugins is it?

I can't Q. It's fine the way it is though.
It's version 5.0 and I've written to Hiren
asking for the new version 6.0 which may
have what you wanted. I'll let you know
    if I get it.

  • On a old HD I got a while back that came from a PC that was owned by the city of Jacksonville. It had WFW 3.11, DOS 6.22 and also had NetWare. Not sure on what version of netware though. Anyway, theres a directory called installer and has copys of all of the programs that is on the HD. I would copy it over but I can't find the damn drive. I have a big box of HDs and forgot what it looked like. I remember it was a Maxtor.
