I don't have any old-enough computers or any USB floppy drives or any device like the Kryoflux. Does someone have the disks and are they able to dump them here?
It looks like someone just ran an update on a 5.00.0 disk. The dates don't match 16bitos. And even that does not quite look like it was dumped from genuine disks. The boot sector and last-accessed dates have been molested by Windows. So, there is no reason to believe these images are in any way complete or free of other errors.
This is Installed disk image from original IBM PC DOS 5.00.1 (3.5") disk. (Not dumped image from original media) You can use this image instead.
*Original dumped disk image consists 3EA of 3.5" 720KB *Installed disk image consists 4EA of 3.5" 720KB
P.S. If you still want original dumped image from retail disk, I recommend to buy it yourself on eBay.
3.5" 1.44MB FDD (Internal) is not expensive. 720KB diskette is recognized on 1.44MB Also you can buy SCP (Super Card Pro) and dump it. (SCP supports 720KB / 1.44MB FDD) You don't have to buy old PC with floppy drive.
I recommend to buy it on eBay or another if you want. If you can't buy it, please use installed DOS 5.00.1 or another version to install on HDD. (IBM DOS 5.00 or 5.02)
But installed DOS 5.00.1 can be installed to HDD by using the following command.
1) Boot DOS 2) Run FDISK to make HDD partition 3) Re Boot DOS and run FORMAT (A:FORMAT C: /S /U) 4) Make DOS directory on C:\ (C:\MD\DOS, C:\CD\DOS) and copy all files to C:\DOS.
Why does everyone keep telling others to buy the disks instead of doing that themselves? Not everyone has a diskette drive or the money to do so.
Because we don't have money either
On the off chance we can get someone else who does have money hooked on archiving things then that helps us all get more stuff archived.
Besides, why WOULDN'T one want a floppy drive?! They are the awesomest things in the world! Order yours today! Supplies are limited! Operators are standing by!
OK, maybe the disks aren't 100% original (I imaged them long time ago and I do not have them anymore to check also I cannot remember where and how I got them) but it's not a fake. The md5 checksums of DOS system files matches those in 16bitOS:
and I have installed it just fine. Maybe someone just updated the files on the disks, or maybe IBM itself distributed this while new updated disks weren't available (they also did this with 4.01).
@dieymir, when I typed VER with your setup disk booted, it only said "IBM DOS Version 5.00" with no "Revision 1" or mention of a CSD or "correctional service diskette".
I rechecked this and it's definitively *not* the real thing. This copy is IBM DOS 5.0 tainted with some later files. I'm sorry. I made a mistake and messed both copies when comparing mine with the one supplied by ibmpc5150 which it's the real thing. The CDS it's good, though, so you can upgrade any IBM DOS 5.00 (but not 5.02!) copy to the very latest version: 5.00.1 CSD UR37387 (09/92).
Comments
But IBM PC DOS 5.00.1 is sold on eBay.
So, the best way is to buy and dump it by yourself.

Edit: I see now.
Edit: @SomeGuy, I noticed it after I booted from the disk in VirtualBox.

3.5" 1.44MB FDD (Internal) is not expensive.
720KB diskette is recognized on 1.44MB
Also you can buy SCP (Super Card Pro) and dump it.
(SCP supports 720KB / 1.44MB FDD)
You don't have to buy old PC with floppy drive.
1. I don't have a USB floppy drive.
2. Even if I did, it probably wouldn't have support for 720K disks anyway.
Windows 10 supports 1.44MB FDD.
You can run Winimage to dump 3.5" 720KB/1.44MB.
3.5" USB External Diskette FDD is not so expensive.

But to use SCP (Super Card Pro), you should buy 3.5" FDD (internal) instead.

And if I could, I WOULD buy the disks. (But i’m 13 😢)

I see prices as low as $28, doesn't look like a rare and expensive item to me.
And you also refused to upload MS-DOS 5.00a Upgrade English, which is even less rare as the non-Upgrade version is available everywhere.
