AOL was a great program and still is (kinda) for dialup only. Everybody had it so it was great. My dad used it since it first came out and then I'd go online like with 3.0 back in '96 on the family computer and got used to new versions. Then when we moved in '02, we got cable and now I only use AOL once in awhile.
Hah, it's funny seeing all of you bash AOL. I was a beta tester for 9 and what I think is AOL 9 SE or something like that...like AOL 9.5, but they still marketed it as AOL 9. (Hell, I have no idea if they even released it.) There was an interesting feature in the beta I have - a custom dialer, which let you connect without the shitty client. I use it when my DSL goes out. I have SBC Yahoo! DSL (not much of an improvement, but 40k/sec is better than 4k/sec) which likes to crash their servers randomly.
