Microsoft Entertainment Pack 1

The Microsoft Entertainment pack was a collection of 16 bit games designed for Windows 3.x. These games were developed in house by Microsoft to show the gaming ability of Windows at a time when most games were being produced strictly for DOS. The first release was in 1990 with the first pack, and the last 16 bit version released was The Best of Microsoft Entertainment Pack in 1995.

You are quite right. It does not create program groups under Windows 9x, even with the Program Manager open.

It is designed for use with Windows 3.0 and 3.1, although the applications should run on 9x.

the applications on WEP1, 2, 3, and 4 do run, but the program groups are not created except for WEP4

I can confirm they work on Windows 98, but only Pack 4 makes shortcuts and has the installer looking different out of the other 3.

Microsoft Entertainment Pack 1 exists as 2 versions.

1.0 <-- Original Release in 1990
1.0B <-- Updated Release in 1991

They're for Windows 3.0 / 3.1
However, after Windows 95, it cannot be guaranteed perfect operation.
