Will there be a significant difference in performance between:
1260mhz amd duron, 256mb pc113 ram
2200mhz amd athlon barton, 512mb ddr400 ram
Can you give me a rough percentage, eg 50% meaning the athlon system will be at least 50% faster.

39.84% faster im guessing.

i think you have a somewhat increase in performance as fasr as ram casue it DDR but processorwise youll definatly notice a large boost id beleive

You'd notice a big improvement cuz of the RAM - more things can load into memory at once, and memory is much, much faster than a hard drive. I can't wait for my upgrade 512 meg stick. 640MB ought to be enough for anybody.

Unless there's a significant problem I'm missing, increasing the memory from 256 to 512 should DEFINATELY give it a better operation.
