Yeah, NT 3.1 would probably reduce the funtionality of the laptop. For instance... NT 3.1 and cd-rom drives weren't a great mix (unless they were SCSI).
Hmmm I'll hav to think about it, might try multi-booting NT 3.51 and Win 3.1, its got a 2GB hard drive lol Just wanted a PC to test out 16-bit apps on an older kernel
I ran 95A on my old Packard Bell Laptop. It was a 486 50Mhz, 12MB RAM, 200MB HD and it ran pretty good. The only thing is that didnt work out for me was the Video Driver and 256 colors...

Also, have you tried running NT 3.10? That would be better (in some ways)
Almost any not very modern 32bit app runs in 3.51 but nothing in 3.1
Yeah, Win3.1 is alot faster and sleeker. You might loose some stabiliy, but I doubt you'll even notice it.
Plus, Win3.1 has Win32 addin. From what I heard, it cannot be installed into NT 3.1.
There's no point, seeing as Win32s implement part of NT's API.
